Welsh Government to invest more in social housing

It has been announced that the Welsh Government will invest an extra £175m in housing, taking their total budget investment in 2020 to £400m.

£48m of this extra money will go towards funding 20,000 affordable homes between 2016-21 and hatch. are pleased that this will continue the momentum towards easing the housing crisis.

Llywodraeth Cymru is working in partnership with the Development Bank of Wales to develop a number of initiatives to support the housing agenda, with financial transactions capital funding of £10m in 2020-21 to speed delivery of additional modular social homes.

The draft budget has the Housing Loans programme allocating financial transactions capital funding of £50m in 2020-21 to assist RSL’s (registered social landlords) with funding development plans for new social housing and to help decarbonise existing homes.
