hatch. win a place on the “NH2 Offsite Construction of New Homes” Framework

hatch. has recently been appointed a place on the LHC “NH2 Offsite Construction of New Homes” framework.

LHC is a central purchasing body providing procurement on behalf of Contracting Authorities throughout the United Kingdom.

Gerard Walsh, hatch. CEO comments:

“We are delighted to be awarded a place on this framework because it means that we will be able to offer the unique CLiCs apartment system across London, South East, South West, Midlands, North England and Wales.”

hatch. CLiCs is a light gauge steel volumetric system designed for multi-storey affordable and private rented accommodation, utilising a standard design system for a range of predetermined building styles.

The CLiCs standard internal formats can be mix and matched to meet the client demand.

The hatch. CLiCs system has been designed to provide cost effective accommodation for social housing, in line with the technical housing standards and their unique light gauge steel frame system has achieved SCI/NHBC Stage 1 certification.

Martin Sayers, hatch. Technical Director, comments:

“Our hatch. homes are built using simple, repeatable technology that can produce any layout for any type of tenure. We have created standard layouts for affordable housing (NdSS compliant), PRS, Market Sale and extra care/later living. Our system is self-supporting up to 8 stories, line loaded through the walls enabling any mix of apartments to be achieved within a block.

Our system has evolved from systems deployed for over ten years on multi-accommodation projects and is accredited to SCI and NHBC.”

It is well documented that the housing crisis is at a critical point and demand for quality and affordable housing in particular is far outreaching supply. hatch. are helping tackle the housing shortage head on by their commitment to producing standard modules and components evolved from market proven, volumetric, precision manufactured technology.

The hatch. vision is to bridge the social housing gap through the implementation of quality, affordable and robust modular homes built in local factories. The many benefits of modern methods of construction are well recognised but the route to market is unclear, often due to a lack of expertise and a weak supply chain. The hatch. team are experts in their field and their supply chain has been carefully chosen to develop CLiCs based upon their vast experience and technical knowledge. This framework is a hugely positive step in the right direction.

This new NH2 framework will allow the public sector to directly procure modular low-rise and medium-rise off-site housing for their area via a fully audited and trusted source.
